Amelia Island Concourse and More

Yesterday we attended the Amelia Island Concourse D'Elegance and what an amazing experience. We bought the "concourse and more" which was worth every penny we paid. The tickets gave us early entry (0830) into the show, private lunch at the Ritz, a poster, and a glossy program.

John  Campion was there with his family and some of his race cars. We were able to thank him again for the private tour of his car collection. Really great guy. He's a self-made millionaire that treats everyone the same. He made his money by developing a portable power systems that are used at concerts and events like that. He first client was Michael Jackson. Anyway really nice guy.

We also happened to be in the same area where Sir Sterling Moss wss certificates of authenticity to people who had boight cars that he had previously owned. Russ has a great shot of him on the big camera that I will post later.

Lunch was delicious. We sat at a table with from all over. The couple to the right of us drove from Ottawa, Canada. They were vacationing in Naples, FL and making their way back home. The couple to the left of us was very interesting. He had several cars. He has a BMW racer that was to be in race in Europe during WWII and they ended up hiding it in a museum to keep Hitler from damaging it. It stayed there for years. He was also present the day that Carol Shelby got his racing license.  The other guys at the table were Porsche guys that traveled from Palm Beach on Bucket list trip.

Not only were the cars amazing. The fashion was beautiful. I an going to do a separate entry for that as well.

If you have never been, add this to your bucket list. Lots of fun activities, interesting people, and beautiful cars with great stories to tell. :)
